Links: Make URLs/Links in messages clickable.

Various email software programs handle the creation of clickable links differently.

Inserting a URL into a message

When adding a URL to your outgoing email, sometimes you may enter it in this format:

www.mail-list.com

Usually, your email software will automatically make this link clickable. This is convenient for your email recipients, since they won't have to manually type or paste into a browser. Clickable links are usually formatted like this:

www.mail-list.com

However, not all email programs may recognize it as a web address. If it does not recognize it, then the program will not make the URL clickable.

Preferred method to insert a URL

The best way to insert a URL into your message is to include the http:// prefix.

Use this format:

http://www.mail-list.com

This format is recognized by most email software. The link will then appear blue and clickable:

http://www.mail-list.com
