When your subscriber sends a message to your list, it is assigned a serial number and saved in a queue in our system. An email is sent back to you:

o To APPROVE:  Reply to this email.  That's it!

This message will then be released and sent to your list.

All the system needs is the Subject line, to release

your message.  The body of this message is ignored

when returned.  The original message has been

saved, and will be used to send to the list.

Make sure the email is going

                   To: yourlistname-control@cirrus.mail-list.com

Simply reply back to the message and it will be approved and sent out to your subscribers.

o To DISCARD:  Change APPROVE in the Subject to DISCARD

This message will be thrown away and nobody will see it.

Or just delete this message, and the message

awaiting approval on our machine will never be sent,

and will be deleted after 30 days.

    o See other commands below.

      Examples:

               COMMAND APPROVE 1275549381901

                          - or -

               COMMAND DISCARD 1275549381901

Extra words before "COMMAND" in the Subject line of your reply,

      will be ignored.

The command DISCARD will permanently delete the message. The sender of the message will not be notified.

COMMANDS - Reply and change the word APPROVE to DISCARD or UNSUB

- - - - - - -

o DISCARD  The post will be ignored, without even a courtesy return.

o UNSUB    Discards the post, and processes a "unsubscribe" request

           on behalf of the user.

Use the command UNSUB if you want to delete the message and also remove sender's email address from your list.

You can also use some other COMMANDS - Reply and change the word APPROVE to COMMENT, INTRO or REJECT

- - - - - - -

COMMANDS that pass along your thoughts.  Reply to this email. In addition to changing the Subject Line, erase the body of the message.

Put your thoughts in the reply message.  The system will combine your thoughts with the original message the subscriber/sender sent in.

o COMMENT  The post will be approved, and your message

text is added as a Moderator's comment at the bottom.

The command COMMENT will include any message that you insert in the body of your reply message at the bottom of the actual message and it will be sent out to your subscriber list.

o INTRO    The post will be approved, and your message

text is added at the top, followed by two blank lines.

The command INTRO is quite similar the COMMENT. The only difference is that your message is displayed at the top instead of at the bottom of the message that will be sent out to your subscriber list.

o REJECT   The post will be discarded, and your message

text is added as a Moderator's explanation for the

rejection. This email is then forwarded to the sender.

The sender's message will not be sent out to the subscriber list and the sender will get your explanation back (which you can type into the body of the reply message).

Make sure that before you use the commands COMMENT, INTRO or REJECT, the body of the email is erased. After you hit Reply, erase the body of the email:
