How do I solve my subscriber getting this error message: "Sent from an unauthorized email address"
Mail-List.com allows members of your list to post a message as well as approved non-members.
- Members may be subscribed on either your regular list or Digest.
- Non-members are people with your approval to send messages to the list.
Sometimes, people try to post from a different email address.
Example:
Susie is on your list as susan@xyz.com
but is trying to send email from susan@corporate.xyz.com
How to Resolve
STEP 1 - Ask the sender to forward the error message.
The circled part of the error message below indicates what address is being rejected.

STEP 2 - Verify the rejected address
STEP 3 - Perform an option below
Option 1 - Member > Add to your List
If the member's rejected address is not found, add the subscriber to your list.
Option 2 - Member > Add additional address
You can allow subscribers to have a secondary email address on your list. Set this address as Post Only. The subscriber will continue to receive mailing list email at their primary address, while being allowed to send new messages from their secondary address. Link to instructions shown below.
Option 3 - Non-members
Address found on report
If the report shows the same address they are sending from, please contact Mail-List.com for help.
Address NOT found on report
Follow the Post Only Instructions below to add the non-member.
Post Only Instructions
For instructions about the Post Only option, see this post.
Verify
After completing one of these Options, ask the sender to send a new message to the list. If they continue to receive an error, please contact us at Mail-List.com.
