Approve/Reject/Annotate messages before they are sent to the Mailing List.

This feature allows you to control which messages are sent immediately.

  • Most Mailing Lists allow all incoming messages to be sent immediately to their List.
  • Some Mailing Lists approve every message to their List.

In our experience, List Owners only use this option if things get "out of control".

Approval Process

When your Subscribers send a message to the List, an email notification is sent to all List Moderators.

2. STEP TWO: Select your action, and click Submit Button

If another List Moderator clicks the same message, they will see what action the first moderator chose.

Approval Action Choices

Comment, Intro and Reject allow you to include your reasons for your action. Reject will only be seen by the author of the message.

Comment and Intro will be seen by all Subscribers, as the message is released to the Mailing List.

Optional Settings

1. Moderator messages sent immediately.

By default, messages from moderators are sent immediately to the List.

If these messages should go through the approval process, then use the Miscellaneous Menu option below to change settings.

2. Designate others as "Pre-Approved"

You can allow some people's messages to be sent immediately to the List. They are Pre-Approved and do not need any moderation.

Examples of Pre-Approved Senders:

  • Your Board of Directors
  • Non-members sharing public information (IE Judicial Court Schedule, Change of Judge Assignment, etc.)
  • Subscribers with a history of posting quality messages.

To set Pre-Approved Subscribers:

  • Click Manage Subscribers.
  • Click Special Handling for Subscribers.
  • Enter email addresses.
  • Select Add to Pre Approved Poster List.
  • Select email to send results.
  • Click Special Handling for Subscribers.
