Welcome Message: Send from your personal email address.
Traditionally, when people sign up for a Mailing List and receive a Welcome Message, it is sent from the Mailing List administrative email address.
If the new Subscriber replies to the Welcome Message, they receive a Help message from the Listserv.
Welcome Message default setting
By default, the Welcome Message is sent from the Mailing List administrative address at Mail-List.com.
Other options include:
- Send from List Owner's personal email address.
- Send from a List Owner Alias.
Instructions shown below to make that change.
Why send the Welcome Message from the Owner's personal email?
If the new Subscriber replies to the Welcome Message, the List Moderator does not see it. The new Subscriber's reply goes unanswered.
Use the web interface to change settings:
Log into your mail-list account at https://database.mail-list.com.
- Click Customize Your List
- Click New Subscriber Settings.
- Click Who is the Welcome Message From ?
- Select My Email Address.
- Click Save.

This option uses the information from Your Primary Email Address setting in the List Moderator Menu.
For this option, the Welcome Message is sent from firstname.lastname@example.org.
All replies are sent to Your Primary Email Address as well as all other List Moderators.
The new Subscriber does not see your personal email address.
