Sometimes, people send links with very long URLs, which can break apart and cause problems. That problem has caused services like Tinyurl and Bit.ly to come into existence.
Mail-list.com also has the ability to rewrite long URLs into short URLs.

Use the Web Interface to Change Settings
Log into your mail-list account at https://database.mail-list.com.
- Click Customize Your List.
- Click Mobile First Formatting.
- Click Replace Very Long URL's With A Redirect URL.
- Click Yes.
- Click Save.
